KYBELLA®

Candidates for KYBELLA® treatments may be adult men or women of any age who are bothered by fat under the chin. Good candidates retain good skin quality but have noticeable excess fat in the submental region. Conditions such as a history of facial or neck surgery, bleeding problems, or medical conditions in the neck may disqualify you from undergoing KYBELLA® injections. Patients with severe skin laxity in the neck are better candidates for neck lift surgery. However, most interested individuals who have submental fullness and good neck skin quality are candidates for KYBELLA® and can achieve a slimmer, more youthful, and more defined neckline with these treatments.

How KYBELLA® Works

KYBELLA® is offered as a single treatment or as a series of treatments. This injectable is comprised of deoxycholic acid, which assists in the natural breakdown of fat cells. Each in-office treatment takes less than 20 minutes to perform. During your treatment, KYBELLA® is injected into a series of points in the submental region underneath your chin, after which you can go about your day as usual. During the following six to eight weeks, the injected deoxycholic acid will continually break down the excess fat cells in the area. Once the cells have been broken down, your lymphatic system will eliminate them from your body. Your neckline will become gradually more defined and slender as KYBELLA® continues to destroy submental fat cells. While some patients need only a single treatment, others may need up to six treatments spaced four or more weeks apart to achieve their desired results. The number of treatments you will need depends on your goals and the amount of fat present under your chin.
